Youth News:  Wow! Did we have a great weekend.  Last weekend  we went on our spring retreat to Camp McDowell.  It turned out that it was all girls and what a blast we had! We played lots of Pictionary and tried our hand at Bocce Ball.  With the beautiful weather we went on several hikes resulting in lots of adventures. Learned a lot about the Biblical Ester… Oh, and congrats to Lydia, Shea, and Katherine for winning the scavenger hunt! Have a Great week!

The United Thank Offering             Ingathering Is May 18th

Using the Box

UTO is very different from other groups. We are not fund-raisers and we do not collect contributions or donations. We do not think of UTO only once or twice a year.

Thanks through Prayer and Offering

What we do in the United Thank Offering is first to offer our prayers of thanks to God. This is the major difference between us and other groups. The United Thank Offering is prayer oriented. Then we give tangible thanks for the blessing in the form of coins or bills. This money is an offering, not a donation.

This is the word we always use - an offering. An offering is not the same as a donation or a contribution. An offering is a thanksgiving to God - always. We do this every day - not just once in a while. Thanks be to God.

Roundtable Discussions

In addition to filling out the survey, the Search Committee will be offering Roundtable Discussions.  Roundtable Discussions will allow parishioners to discuss various aspects of St. Thomas with each other and the search committee in a small group casual setting.  These discussions will help us put together a Parish Profile for St. Thomas, so prospective rectors may better understand who we are and our hopes for the future.  The first Roundtable Discussion will be this coming Sunday, April 27, at 10:15 am during Sunday school in the Parish Hall.  Corky will be out of town, and we will be holding a Roundtable Discussion in lieu of his Sunday school class.  The next Roundtable Discussions will be held as follows:

Wednesday, May 14, at 6:45 p.m. in the Parish Hall

Sunday, May 18, at 9 am in the Coffee House (The Millennials Sunday School classroom).

Sunday, June 1, at 9 a.m. in the Parish Hall

St. Anne’s Guild:  All ladies from the church are invited and welcome to come to our meetings. Our next meeting is a luncheon at Camille Schenderling’s house at 11:30 am Saturday, May 10. For more information, please call Camille at 881-3224.
