St. Thomas World Mission

The World Mission Department has two committees: one to oversee our support of the girls' orphanage, Nuestras Pequenas Rosas in San Pedro Sula, Honduras; and the other to plan and implement the Honduran Medical Mission.

We support three girls at the orphanage and pay the tuition for two girls to attend the bi-lingual school. We also support their building fund, send clothes and school supplies, and support Marshall Hudson as a missionary teacher there.

Our yearly medical mission to Delicios Del Norte, Honduras, is our main mission outreach. Our parish funds the medical supplies needed to hold a four-day medical, dental, and veterinary clinic there. Our 1996 mission included three doctors, one physician's assistant, four nurses, one veterinarian, one dentist, two recent dental graduates from Honduras, one dental hygienist, one priest and a variety of volunteers who came to lend helping hands.

Support for these missions comes from the parish general fund, the annual Lobsterfest, and the sale of our cookbook, Candlelight Celebrations.
